Yet Another Recall By Toyota

Toyota has recalled around 17000 Lexus cars and stopped sales of the vehicles after tests conducted by the federal agencies showed that the fuel tank could leak in case of a rear end collision.

The National Highway Safety administration said the defect could cause fire in its filing on the subject.

A Toyota spokesperson said that Company is not aware of the any incidents or accidents happening from the defect pointed out by the National Highway safety administration.

This recall comes amongst questions raised on the company’s recent recall of another batch of cars which were having sudden acceleration problems.

In February, the HS 250h was subject to a recall affecting it and the 2010 Prius hybrid for a braking problem that could extend braking distances. Toyota said it would resolve the problem by reprogramming the antilock brake software on both vehicles.

The company has started working on resolving the situation and hopes to find a remedy shortly.

Already many nations have started cutting back on the stimulus spending, which aggravates the fears of world falling into a recession again. The US has been urging the world that the stimulus package need to continue and budget deficits can be checked and controlled later.

The Uncertainty in this regard has prompted many investors to move funds to Gold which has prompted this fresh rally.

Too Much salt in American’s Diets

In a survey published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on June 25 2010 in its Morbidity and Mortality weekly report (MMWR), it has come across that Americans consume too much common salt.

The CDC report based on the survey data collected from 2005 to 2006 says only 5.5 percent of adults eat less than 1,500 mg per day and only 18.8 percent of all other adult consumed less than 2,300 mg per day.

This figures pales in comparison with the dietary recommendations of less than 1500 mg per day for an adult.

Higher Consumption of common salt ( sodium chloride ) among other things can lead to increased risk of Gastric Cancer. Higher Salt consumption can also lead to Osteoporosis as it forces kidneys to draw more calcium into the urine and this leads to weak bones.

Higher intake of salt can also lead to heart problems, though there is no conclusive evidence pointing this out, but doctors have always expressed concerns on this.

The biggest culprit is the food habit of the americans as the biggest consumers of packaged food. The processed food contains the highest amount of salt and people regularly consuming processed foods intake much higher quantities of salt then required by the body.

The Manufacturers need to cut down on the salt in the processed food to save this nation from a salty

"Imran, guess you got lucky," tweeted Aamir.

Imran was quick to retort on the micro blogging site: "It ain't luck mamujaan."

According to the Jaane Tu.. actor : "Each of us had put in a lot of hard work into the film."

The friendly sparring with his perfectionist uncle is part of family bonding insists Imran. "Aamir will never have anything nice to say about by work and that is how it will be. Criticism runs within the family and that's how it has always been," said Imran.

Imran feels there will be more fireworks when Aamir actually gets down to watching I Hate Luv Storys.

"I am dreading the moment mamu will watch the film. He's not going to be good to me about it..."Ndtv-Show-Special-Story.aspx?ID=554&StoryID=ENTEN20100145845
